Past Continuous tense
> Past Continuous tense को past imperfect tense भी कहते है।
Definition: जब कोई कार्य ( Work ) बीते हुए समय ( Past time) मे जारी हो , तब उसे Past Continuous tense कहा जाता हैं।
पहचान : रहा था , रही थी , रहे थे
जैसे ;
1. मैं लिख रहा था ।
2. वह जा रही थी ।
3. वे लोग सो रहे थे ।
▪️Affirmative Sentences▪️
Rule 1: अगर Subjects (I, He, She, it या Singular noun ) हो तो Subject के बाद Was लगाकर verb की first form में ing लगाते हैं ।
【I, He/She /it /Name + Was + V1+ing + obj. 】
Examples ;
1. वह काम कर रहा था ।
He was working.
2. वह पटना से आ रही थी।
She was coming from Patna.
3. यह तैर रहा था।
It was floating.
4.सलमान क़िताब पढ़ रहा था।
Salman was reading a book.
5. खुशी पढ़ा रही है थी।
Khushi was teaching.
Rule 2 : अगर Subjects ( You, We, They या Plural noun ) हो तो Subject के बाद Were लगाकर verb की first form में ing लगाते हैं ।
【 You/We/They / The boys + Were + V1+ing + Obj. 】
Examples ;
1. आप कम कर रहे थे।
You were working.
2. तुम पटना से आ रहे थे।
You were coming from Patna.
3. हमलोग पढ़ा रहे थे ।
We were teaching.
4. वे लोग हँस रहे थे ।
They were laughing.
5. लड़के सीख रहे थे ।
The boys were learning.
▪️Negative Sentences▪️
Rule 1: इनमें Was / Were के बाद not लगाते हैं ।
Examples ;
1.वे लोग नहीं हँस रहे थे ।
They were not laughing.
2. लड़के नहीं सीख रहे थे ।
The boys were not learning.
3. मुझे देर नहीं हो रही थी ।
I was not getting late.
4. खुशी नहीं पढ़ा रही थी ।
Khushi was not teaching.
5. यह नहीं तैर रहा था ।
It was not floating.
▪️ Interrogative Sentences ▪️
Rule 1 : अगर Sentence क्या से Start हो तो Was/ Were कर्ता ( Subject ) से पहले लिखते हैं और verb में ing लगा देते हैं।
Examples ;
1. क्या वे लोग हँस रहे थे ?
Were they laughing ?
2. क्या खुशी पढ़ा रही थी ?
Was khushi teaching ?
3. क्या यह तैर रहा था ?
Was it floating ?
4. क्या मुझे देर हो रही थी ?
Was I getting late ?
5. क्या लड़के सीख रहे थे ?
Were the boys learning ?
